RSI TANK "programme"

RSI TANKS - THE INTERACTIVE EVENTS
RSIA tanks
are events where RSIA present members and guests for inspirational matters, new ideas and insights. Participants will be part of an interactive forum designed as a fusion between a conventional conference, a seminar and a think-tank - a format that is open for things to happen!

In this way, the RSIA tank works as a cross disciplinary lab where people, opinions and ideas are merged into new combinations - all with the goal of making us wiser about how to develop, design and promote RADICAL SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION.

The individuals who will be part of the official “RSIA tank” program will not always deliver a speech, but might be interviewed or take part in a debate. Some will be there live and others will be on-line via Internet. Video and other inspirational materials will also be used in the RSIA tanks.

BURNING POINT STRUCTURE
RSI as a theme in itself is a huge topic. RSI is fundamentally about making a sustainable world for the benefit of everyone living on the planet – and naturally also for the benefit of the planet and its systems.

Being an enormous topic we have simplified things by making a structure with five main categories of “burning points” that RSIA activities evolve around.

RSI BURNING POINTS
- BUSINESS
- DESIGN
- COMMUNICATION & CONSUMERISM
- TECHNOLOGY
- POLITICS

BUSINESS
Business as unusual. Business in totally new ways – we will see the business world changing from being entirely money profit orientated to becoming more concerned about general wellbeing, humans being healthy and living in sustainable ways. Business might very well change to become small again – or operate in smaller entities, just as decentralization is likely to become a hot topic.

In order for organizations to get employees to be part of the needed change it is important that we all understand what it is all about. Making changes and implementing radical sustainable innovation requires creative thinking and doing, such as IBM’s shift from production of material goods to services. Business of tomorrow will look very different.

We have invited several people to share their insights about how it is possible to “do the needed”.

Guy Bergeaud
CEO of Eagles Flight France and former president of Marketing for Renault

GB will be at the RSIA tank with his knowledge about human resources and his interest in helping organizations training their employees to become better sustainable beings – and at the same time improve business in general.

Guy has more than 30 years of experience in marketing, management, coaching and team building.

At the RSI tank Guy will together with Niels Peter Flint steer the show as well as elaborate some of his favorite topics.

Eagles Flight France is part of RSIA as a partner and member.

Frederikke Kroon
Business developer, Marketing Consulting Services, DK

FK Will be at the RSIA tank since she has been working with innovation and marketing for the past more than 25 years in international companies as i.e. Kraft Foods previous for running her own company inspiring executives how to meet the challenges… FK is convinced that entirely new ways of running businesses is needed – the dinosaurs will either collapse or have to reinvent themselves.

New radical changes in organizational structure and management processes and management tools are needed for the business of tomorrow and that’s where the radical sustainable instant interactive innovation methods comes in.

Søren Femmer Jensen
Initiator of RSIA, Director and partner, COCREATIVE, DK

SFJ will be part of the RSI tank because of his 10 years working experience with creative / innovative processes and communication - using multidisciplinary and collaborative platforms to bring about new ideas and radical innovations. SJF believes that new perspectives for entrepreneurship and business development is needed in order to create the business as unusual mindshifts.

DESIGN
Design, architecture, art and all other creative disciplines. The so-called “creative class” or “the creatives” has been called the coming upper class of the world. There is no doubt that “the creatives” have enormous influence on what way the wind blows in terms of trends, fashion etc. However radical artists might be, though, everything in today’s world seems to get commercialized – for good and for bad.

Radical and sustainable innovation can’t come from just from the “the creatives”. It has to happen in collaboration with other disciplines as proposed here. RSI is the biggest challenge for the creative industry but it is also where it can really show its creative and original strength in thinking and doing.
“The creatives” need to “mindshift” as well in order to being able to develop the right circumstances for the further development of the creative industry in general.

Niels Peter Flint
Initiator of RSIA, Sustainable vision designer, Founder of O2 International, EXDL & MICROMACROMONDE, DK / FR

NPF will be part of the RSI tank since he believes that RSI is essential for the development of the world – it will also play a major role in relation to design. According to NPF everything in todays world made the past 50 to a hundred years need to be redeveloped, redesigned – radically and in sustainable innovative ways. It’s the greatest challenge at least in recent history.

NPF will together with GB be the hosts for the “RSIA tank” – he might have a few words to say now and then too.

NPF is one of the two initiators of RSIA but also the owner of Micro Macro Monde & EXDL.

Mikael Fuhr
Director of Design, DSB, DK

MF will be part of the RSI tank because of his work with design at DSB, which is the biggest railway operator in Denmark and has won several operator contracts in Europe.
He has a great interest in design, as well as RSI and the service development in the transportation sector in general.

MF will be part of a panel discussing RSI, energy & transport concepts for the future.

Dan Boding Jensen
Innovation, Vestforbrænding, DK

DBJ will be part of the RSI tank since he is working with new and very
radical ideas and concepts in relation to our common resources – which some today call waste – in tomorrows world waste does not exist and the big waste management companies have become resource managers and products system innovators.

Vestforbrænding is the largest waste management company in Denmark.

DBJ is working with innovation and works with entirely new and very radical approaches to how our waste remains resources.

TECHNOLOGY
In tomorrow’s world we will be dealing with even more technology than we are today. Products and buildings are on their way to become “intelligent” and we will experience marvels we won’t even be able to dream of today.

This is, however, only if technology is used appropriately since disasters can also very well happen. Just imagine nano machines going uncontrolled amok.

New technology is not an end in itself, it is a tool that can improve life on the planet when designed and used right. In this line of thinking RSIA will explore the potentials and relevance of new technology as a basis for sustainable innovation and for re-establishing a constructive and balanced relationship between man, nature AND technology.

Per Diget
Chairman of business comitee, Danish Society of Engineers, DK

PD will be part of the RSI tank because engineering and engineers has a vital role to play when it comes to developing new radical sustainable concepts for a future climate strategy.

Nicholas Møller
President Global Institute for New Energy technologies, GR

NM will be part of the RSI tank since he is one of the spearheads in a new and very radical approach to developing energy systems. NM and his collaborators are developing totally new and highly efficient decentralized energy systems and that way and being part of the new energy technology revolutions.

COMMUNICATION & CONSUMERISM
As one of the major groups in today’s world the marketers and communicators has made it clear that we can all be inspired, communicated to or maybe manipulated to do literally anything desired.

It is therefore of great interest when we today can see the first shifts in how communication is happening that can drive responsible changes in the behaviour of humans on the planet. It is clear though that the marketing and communication industry with its immense power overall needs to reinvents its way of doing things and develop new RSI concepts.

This can’t happen without collaborating with the rest of the world involved in production, branding, design, business etc. And maybe most importantly consumers should be involved in this process to ground changes within and together with the user reality.

Dorothy Mackenzie
Partner, Dragon Rouge, UK

DM will be part of the RSI tank because she is one of the most prominent sustainable design & product development thinkers in the UK. She believes profoundly that new means to radical sustainable innovation are needed in the corporate world to continue a prosperous and sustainable development. DM will focus on RSI and development of the corporate brand.

Frank van Hasselt
Project Director, Scouts for Climate / ETHICAL ECONOMY, DE

FVH will be part of the RSI tank because of his work with entirely new ways of communicating and affecting anyone to consume in more ethical and sustainable ways. FVH will simply be giving us ideas about how fast the consumer behaviour is radically changing.

Thomas Madsen Mygdal
Founder, designer & investor of among other the REBOOT conference, DK

TMM will be part of the RSI tank since he is deeply engaged in activities globally about how to radically change our way of using the Internet in more socially responsible ways – TMM is a very radical innovative and certainly also sustainable doer and thinker. TMM will at RSIA steer a small debate about RSI on the Internet.

Henriette Weber
Social marketing rebel extraordinaire, DK
HW will be part of the RSI tank because of her revolutionary work with digitalized communication and viral marketing. HW calls herself a “Social marketing rebel extraordinaire” and her work is considered to be extremely radical and will shift our ways of communicating dramatically.

POLITICS
Politics will have to change too – politicians need to “mindshift” or rather reinvent what modern politics is all about.

Radical Sustainable Innovation is needed also in politics or maybe politicians just need more access to knowledge about where it could all go.

No one can really predict about the future, but the politicians if anyone really have to – and with a world changing as fast as it does it is extremely important that politics are developed in critical, yet liberal but somehow also “open-minded” controlled ways. There needs to be room for the innovative experimentation, but a responsible and sustainable innovation.

Laue Traberg Smidt:

LTS will be part of the RSI tank because of his involvement in politics and especially green issues and new technology. LTS knows what constrains outdated politics can put on fx. Initiatives about sustainable and human rights issues and he will debate the responsibility and ability of todays politicians to create the mindshift needed to develop legislation so that Radical Sustainable Innovation projects will be easier to implement – also politically - being anything from tax incentives to public funding of RSI pilot projects.
